तृतीये गर्भमासे ऽरणी आहृत्य षष्ठे ऽष्टमे वा जयप्रभृतिभिर् हुत्वा पश्चाद् अग्नेर् दर्भेष्व् आसीनायाः पत्न्याः सर्वान् प्रमुच्य केशान् नवनीतेनाभ्यज्य त्रिश्येतया शलल्या शमीशाखया च सपलाशया पुनः पत्नीम् अग्निर् अदादिति सीमन्तं करोति ॥ (१।१)

tṛtīye garbhamāse 'raṇī āhṛtya ṣaṣṭhe 'ṣṭame vā jayaprabhṛtibhir hutvā paścād agner darbheṣv āsīnāyāḥ patnyāḥ sarvān pramucya keśān navanītenābhyajya triśyetayā śalalyā śamīśākhayā ca sapalāśayā punaḥ patnīm agnir adāditi sīmantaṃ karoti ||
