सधूमवह्निमध्ये वेधसमर्थरसनिक्षेपेण यो धूमः निर्गच्छति तत्सम्पर्काद् यत् किंचिल्लोहस्य स्वर्णादिरूपेण या परिणतिः स धूमवेधः ॥ (२।०)

sadhūmavahnimadhye vedhasamartharasanikṣepeṇa yo dhūmaḥ nirgacchati tatsamparkād yat kiṃcillohasya svarṇādirūpeṇa yā pariṇatiḥ sa dhūmavedhaḥ ||
