Agastyasaṃhitā Śuka Agastya Saṃvāda अगस्त्यसंहिता_शुक_अगस्त्य_संवाद
tantra. Adyar II. p. 180a (22 A8). This is not Pāñcarātra. See note in Adyar Library
Bulletin I. iii. pp. 94-5.
Agastyasaṃhitā Sutīkṣṇa-agastyasaṃvāda अगस्त्यसंहिता_सुतीक्ष्ण-अगस्त्यसंवाद
a dialogue between sages Sutīkṣṇa and Agastya within which occurs a
Pārvatī-Śiva-saṁvāda; described as a Pāñcarātra text with the attribute ‘Paramarahasya’;
deals with the worship of Rāma, Sītā, Lakṣmaṇa and Hanūmān.
See Adyar Library Bulletin I. 3. pp. 93-4.
This is the text q. by Hemādri and other Nibandhakāras on the Rāmanavamīvrata; q. by Hemādri
in Vrata, I, pp. 942-6; Nīlakaṇṭha in Samayamayūkha, Gharpure's edn. pp. 35, 36, 48; in the
Bhaktirasāmṛtasindhu, IO. Eggeling p. 100b; in the Viṣṇupūjāpaddhati, BBRAS. 876; in the
Kāmbojaprakāśa, BBRAS. 1149; by Govindānanda in his Varṣakriyākaumudī and by Raghunandana in
his Tithi, Ekādaśī and Malamāsa Tattvas.
There is no evidence to suppose that this text forms part of the Skānda, though the
Vaiṣṇavakhaṇḍa and the Brahmakhaṇḍa of the Veṇk. Press edn. of the Skānda contain
some Rāmamaterial (Ayodhyāmāhātmya and Setumāhātmya). Cf. above notes under
Agastya--Citrakūṭamāhātmya. Agastya's connection with Rāma is seen even in the Uttarakāṇḍa
of the [Page025-a] Vālmīki Rāmāyaṇa, where Agastya figures as the narrator of the stories.
For a note on and analysis of this Agastyasaṁhitā, see JBORS. XXII. pt. ii. pp.
111-115.
In Oudh V. 28, this text is found as Śivasaṁhitā, sports of Rāmacandra, by Agastya, evidently
because of Śiva delivering the whole text to Pārvatī. Auf. CC. I. p. 653b puts this wrongly under
Śivasaṁhitā, yoga.

Agastyasaṃhitā अगस्त्यसंहिता
a Pāñcarātra text divided into Paṭalas and different from the Sutīkṣṇa-Agastya-saṁvāda.

Agastyasaṃhitā अगस्त्यसंहिता
another name of the Śāṅkarī or Śaṅkarasaṁhitā, forming the third part of the
Skandapurāṇa, not to be found in the Veṅk. Press edn., which is divided into
khaṇḍas.
This is the Agastyasaṁhitā of which the Hālāsyamāhātmya is said to be a part; the text on
Ratnaparīkṣā ascribed to Agastya forms part of this Hālāsyamāhātmya of the Agastyasaṁhitā.
See IO. Eggeling pp. 1320a. 1321a. 1363b-4a. 1378a.
It is doubtful if the Agastyasaṁhitā dealing with Rāma-worship and said, without any evidence
however, to form part of the Skānda, is a section of this Agastyasaṁhitā or Śaṅkarasaṁhitā.
See also Winternitz, HIL. I. p. 572.
Agastyasaṃhitā अगस्त्यसंहिता
part of a Paraśurāmāyaṇa (on the analogy of the Rāmāyaṇa) which concerns Paraśurāma and
gives the mythological history of Kerala.
Br. Mus. 115. IO. Keith p. 969b. Killimangalattu Mana 85 (Agastyasaṁhitāyām [Page026-b]
Keralamāhātmya). MD. 2393 (One of cols. here describes this Agastyasaṁhitā as a part of the
Brahmāṇḍapurāṇa. The Veṅk. Press edn. of the Brahmāṇḍapurāṇa, no doubt, contains
the story of Paraśurāma, but not in this manner or with these titles). MT. 894 (here assigned to
the Viṣṇurahasya section of the Bhūgolakhaṇḍa, of the Āgneyapurāṇa (?) of the
Paraśurāmāyaṇa). TCD. 151. Whish 147 (see esp. the col. here from f. 155).
Agastyasaṃhitā अगस्त्यसंहिता
dealing with Rāmāyaṇamāhātmya and purporting to be a Brahma-Vasiṣṭha-saṁvāda forming
