क्लेशा इति पञ्च विपर्यया इत्य् अर्थः ॥ (१।१)

kleśā iti pañca viparyayā ity arthaḥ ||

ते स्पन्दमाना गुणाधिकारं द्रढयन्ति परिणामम् अवस्थापयन्ति कार्यकारणस्रोत उन्नमयन्ति परस्परानुग्रहतन्त्रीभूत्वा कर्मविपाकं चाभिनिर्हरन्तीति ॥ (२।१)

te spandamānā guṇādhikāraṃ draḍhayanti pariṇāmam avasthāpayanti kāryakāraṇasrota unnamayanti parasparānugrahatantrībhūtvā karmavipākaṃ cābhinirharantīti ||
